Kicking off 2017 with a bang

Happy 2017 everyone! This year is already shaping up to be a very busy one for My Sea to Sky as we work hard to stop Woodfibre LNG in the lead-up to the Provincial election.

Protest! Transparent government doesn't work behind closed doors

MLA Jordan Sturdy and North Vancouver MP Jonathan Wilkinson are hosting a meeting with local government and indigenous leaders this Friday, January 27th, with the goal "to enhance transparency with respect to progress of the (Woodfibre LNG) project." The problem is, this meeting is happening behind closed doors. No media are invited, and the general public is excluded.

We need to send a clear message to our elected representatives that we demand transparent and accountable government, and we do not support Woodfibre LNG. Can you join us this Friday from 9am to 10am for a peaceful demonstration? We want to have as many people as possible on a weekday to show our representatives that Woodfibre LNG does not have social license to proceed. Can you take an hour off work to join us?

This is the first time we've had local, provincial, and federal representatives in the same place at the same time. Don't miss this important opportunity to voice your opposition to Woodfibre LNG.

WHEN: Friday, January 27th from 9am to 10am

WHERE: Squamish Municipal Hall, 37955 2nd Ave, Squamish, BC V8B 0A3

Exposing Premier Christy Clark's PR stunt

Remember last year when Premier Christy Clark proudly announced that Woodfibre LNG is a go, the day before the BC Liberal Convention? We called out this desperate election ploy, and now we have the evidence to prove it thanks to investigative reporter, Mychaylo Prystupa. Watch the video exposing Christy Clark's PR stunt and read how the whole event was staged, from the timing of the announcement, to choosing who stands directly behind the Premier.

Bonus points: we got to call out Christy Clark on her hardhat fetish.

We need cold hard cash. Can you donate today?

For the last three years, My Sea to Sky has been 100% powered by the passion of our amazing volunteers. But we're recognizing that we're in this for the long haul, and we need some help. We know how to operate on a shoestring budget, so every dollar you can donate goes a long way. Please consider setting up a monthly donation so we can hire a part-time volunteer coordinator.

PLEASE DONATE NOW

Our new years resolution? Oh, that's to stop Woodfibre LNG, stop FortisBC's pipeline and compressor station, and to protect Howe Sound. Help us to make it happen.
