Rally to celebrate the beauty of Howe Sound
CONTACT: Delena Angrignon delena@myseatosky.org | 604-916-6440
WHAT: Come out and cheer on the riders of the Granfondo and share our vision of a healthy Howe Sound.
WHEN: Saturday, September 12, 2015
WHERE: Various locations from West Vancouver to Squamish including:
- Taylorway exit
- Caulfield Drive overpass
- The Seascape overpass/ Ansel Place near Lions Bay
- Britannia Beach
- Squamish Totem Hall
- Squamish Adventure Centre
- Squamish in Garibaldi Village
WHY: To cheer on the riders, and show them how much we love where we live and that the communities along the Sea to Sky Corridor stand united to protect our homes and also the Tourism Industry that helps support us economically.
We would like to share our vision of Howe Sound where there are no pipelines, no tankers and no Woodfibre LNG.
Unbeknownst to most of the riders and their families who will traverse this highway, the clean air they are breathing, the healthy oceans where we have enjoyed the return of humpback whales, orcas, and salmon are at risk.
Premier Christy Clark has advocated for the Woodfibre LNG project despite a groundswell of opposition from Municipal Councils, the Islands Trust, and Regional Districts around the Sound.
Myseatosky.org is very supportive of the Gran Fondo as it creates a positive awareness about the communities the riders pass through.
We thank the Granfondo organizers for putting on such a world class event and have communicated to them that we are out there to celebrate their major feat.
