#ClimateStrikeOnline

Our world has changed. As we're all adjusting to the COVID-19 pandemic, we have had to quickly adapt months of planning for the next global climate strike. We cannot take it to the streets, so will you join us on Friday, April 3rd 2020 for a #ClimateStrikeOnline?

While COVID-19 is an immediate threat, our climate emergency cannot wait. From sea-level rise to wildfires, climate change is already impacting our communities. Scientists have warned that we must limit warming to 1.5 degrees and time is running out.

While this can sound scary, responding to climate change is an opportunity to create a better future for everyone. If the world can respond to COVID-19 in an instant, why can't our world leaders do the same when it comes to the climate crisis?

Everyone is welcome to join the #ClimateStrikeOnline! Get creative with your family and make signs in self-isolation. And please tell your family and friends to join you online!

How to join the climate strike online

Step 1: Make a climate strike sign.

Step 2: Take a picture of yourself holding your climate strike sign. You can be alone or with family and friends, at home or outside, whatever is comfortable and safe for you in self-isolation.

Step 3: Post your picture online using the hashtag #ClimateStrikeOnline

Watch us on Facebook Live!

Youth speakers from around Howe Sound will be speaking live on the My Sea to Sky Facebook page throughout the day. Tune in to listen to our demands for municipal, provincial, and federal government, and to find out what we are doing to take climate action!

WHEN: Friday, April 3rd 2020

My Sea to Sky is incredibly proud and grateful to say that we rely on the My Sea to Sky community for small donations that provide the majority of our funding. Since our launch in 2014, we have been funded through personal savings, family and friends; and powered by the passion of our volunteers. Your generous contribution will help us to run our critical campaigns to defend, protect, and restore Howe Sound. Every dollar helps.
