LNG: Not in our National Interest
March 30, 2026
Eoin Finn
In the midst of global turmoil and yet another war for oil, PM Mark Carney is pushing hard to fast track new fossil fuel megaprojects.
Foreign investors are pitching LNG exports as an economic cure-all for Canada. But if LNG is such an economic engine, why do they need billions of our public dollars?
“LNG: Not in Our National Interest” is a new national campaign to pressure PM Carney and his key ministers to stop the government from giving billions more of our taxpayer money to dirty energy megaprojects that only benefit foreign billionaires. We want the government to start to fund the clean, renewable economy instead.
Join our national campaign launch on March 31 to hear from movement leaders and experts on why LNG export projects are not in our national interest. Learn why these foreign-owned, high-cost projects don’t make economic sense, will raise energy prices at home, and harm Indigenous reconciliation. You’ll also learn how much better the clean, renewable economy is better on every measure.
