It's been a tough couple of weeks.
Deadly heatwaves. Floods. Wildfires. Fire clouds. Drought. Crop failure. Infrastructure damage.
This is climate change, and it is terrifying.
Holding on tightly to hope through climate action
I'm going to get very real here: I've struggled with climate anxiety and depression since I was in my late teens. It took me a while to realize what this was, and it really helped when I could give it a name: ecological grief.
As a marine scientist, climate change has been central to my work, but despite decades of warnings from scientists our Provincial and Federal governments are failing us.
The way I cope is by taking action. I need to feel like I'm doing something. Changing things.
It's the reason that I kickstarted a grassroots movement to eliminate plastic bags when I was 29. Fifteen years later, we're finally seeing Provincial and Federal legislation to ban single use plastics in Canada.
It's the reason that I've spent over 8 years now, fighting Woodfibre LNG with all of you. We simply cannot develop new fossil fuel infrastructure in a climate crisis.
But we need to do more. Much more.

I am very excited to share a new campaign that we've been working on:
The #ZeroCarbonChallenge is a ten-year plan to catalyze climate action in Canada.
Our goal is zero emissions.
We are currently developing ways to help YOU prioritize the most effective climate actions you can take to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, and generate a personalized ten-year climate action plan.
Together, we will tackle climate change from the ground up, which in turn will drive the transformational systems change that we need to see.
