An exciting update from My Sea to Sky
October 26, 2024
Eoin Finn
I’m very excited to inform our community that the My Sea to Sky leadership team is growing. Please welcome our new Executive Director, Matthew Lawson, who will be officially starting on October 14th.
After seven years as our Executive Director, Tracey Saxby is stepping into the role of Director of Campaigns and Communications. In her new role, Tracey will continue to use her powerful voice and campaigning expertise on our highest-priority campaigns, inspiring and empowering us all to take action to defend, protect, and restore Átl’ka7tsem/Howe Sound.
We are so grateful for everything Tracey has contributed as Executive Director. Her hard work, expertise, and commitment have been instrumental in all that this community has achieved.
Matthew is joining MS2S with over a decade of experience in conservation organizations, most recently as the Executive Director of Joshua Creek Heritage Art Centre. He loves recreating in the Sea to Sky as an avid rock climber, snowboarder and hiker, and has been involved in many environmental protection campaigns.
“It is such an incredible honour to be able to play a small role within this remarkable organization and join the My Sea to Sky community. Together, I believe we can continue to safeguard the spectacular natural legacy of Átl’ḵa7tsem / Howe Sound.”
We can’t wait to see what is possible with Matthew and Tracey working alongside our dedicated volunteers and supporters.
Please join me in thanking Tracey and welcoming Matthew! Over the next few months, you’ll see him at volunteer meetups, in campaign actions, and around the community.
Sincerely,
Eoin Finn
Board Chair, My Sea to Sky
My Sea to Sky is incredibly proud and grateful to say that we rely on the My Sea to Sky community for small donations that provide the majority of our funding. Since our launch in 2014, we have been funded through personal savings, family and friends; and powered by the passion of our volunteers. Your generous contribution will help us to run our critical campaigns to defend, protect, and restore Átl’ḵa7tsem / Howe Sound. Can you chip in?
