Bio
Bob and his wife Nancy moved to the Sunshine Coast in 2001 after raising their family in North Vancouver. They have been active and involved members of the Gibsons community ever since.
Over twenty years of local residency has prepared Bob for the privilege of representing the concerns and interests of local citizens
Bob has a wealth of experience in management, communication, education and community activity.
As faculty at Capilano University, Bob was responsible for developing and managing the University’s Film and Television Program which has since become one of the premier film programs in North America.
He brought segments of the program to the Capilano University Sunshine Coast Campus for a period of time.
Bob has had a long career in radio broadcasting with stops at a number of stations in Vancouver including management positions, talk shows at CJOR and a nationwide talk program on the CKO radio network.
His background in broadcasting led him to an effort to bring the first commercial radio station to the Sunshine Coast. In 2005 his application for a new FM station to serve the Coast was approved by the CRTC and 91.7, CKAY FM went on the air in May of 2006. The station has provided local news and community information ever since. Bob sold the station a couple of years ago.
He is a former Chair of the Gibsons Chamber of Commerce and currently sits on an Advisory Planning Committee and is a Director of the Gibsons Landing Harbour Authority.
Bob and Nancy’s two children followed them to the Sunshine Coast. Brandey is a local Registered Nurse and Matt Morris became the popular morning announcer on CKAY FM.
Their three grandchildren, Riley, Kate and Alexa were all born on the Sunshine Coast and currently attend local schools.
