Proposed industrial projects

The next elected council will have decision-making authority over several aspects of proposed industrial projects. All of these projects will have social, environmental, and climate impacts. What is your position on:

FortisBC pipeline: neutral

Why: Same views as LNG stance

FortisBC workcamp: neutral

Why: Same views as floatel

Woodfibre LNG: neutral

Why: Personally I am opposed. I am Squamish Nation and want to protect our waters, land and people. My Nation has signed an IBA i do know it creates jobs and land and revenue and when I was on Council I went on the Environmental team to hold the IBA to the letter. As Mayor I want to advocate my thoughts and work with the council to make the right decisions. I am only as strong as my council.

Woodfibre LNG's "floatel": neutral

Why: Same views and this one is harder for me because of MMIW and the volume of workers and female workers are at higher risk.

Proposed development projects

The next elected council will determine whether these development projects proceed or not. All of these projects will have social, environmental, and climate impacts. What is your position on:

Cheema Lands: opposed

Why: We need to classify neighbourhoods and slow down densification and there isn’t enough EA for the areas.

Garibaldi at Squamish: neutral

Why: Squamish Nation council is in partnership with GAS that’s why I say I am Neutral. Personally i do not feel like extending are borders. SLRD doesn’t either. I hear it’s a land grab. I Worry about the Brohm Ridge, Cheakamus River, our families of the Squamish Valley. Trap lines and wildlife.

North Crumpit: opposed

Why: Same view as Cheema lands
