Proposed industrial projects

The next elected council will have decision-making authority over several aspects of proposed industrial projects. All of these projects will have social, environmental, and climate impacts. What is your position on:

FortisBC pipeline: opposed

Why: No comment provided.

FortisBC workcamp: opposed

Why: No comment provided.

Woodfibre LNG: supportive

Why: This project is moving forward in Squamish so I would like to have conversations on how this industry can invest in Squamish as an industry partner and make more substantial investments and contributions to our community.

Woodfibre LNG's "floatel": supportive

Why: This is a solution to keeping the work camp outside of Squamish, I wish there would have been legacy housing left with this project.

Proposed development projects

The next elected council will determine whether these development projects proceed or not. All of these projects will have social, environmental, and climate impacts. What is your position on:

Cheema Lands: supportive

Why: I support giving the lots 509/510 the opportunity for first reading if they are to make an amendment to the growth management boundary.

Garibaldi at Squamish: opposed

Why: I don't believe it's necessary to have this much urban sprawl and Squamish does not have any extra infrastructure and amenities to support a project of this size.

North Crumpit: supportive

Why: This project is currently within the growth management boundary and is through first reading.

Transparency and Accountability

Q: Are there any particular issues where you would have to declare a perceived conflict of interest or recuse yourself from Council discussion on an issue? Please list:
A: I currently work for the federal government and my partner works for the DOS in Public Works, so these are two areas of conflict that could arise for me. I would recuse myself when necessary.
